New Year “Vytautas Magnus Trophy” contest

Preamble: Vytautas the Great (1350-1430), was the Grand Dukechy of Lithuania, one of the most prominent rulers of Lithuania.

 

The purpose: to glorify the name of Vytautas Magnus, to increase the activity of the Club members, to promote HF and VHF ham radio.

 
Date and time: annually, Every the first Sunday of January (Just after the New Year, celebration) at 0700-   0800 UTC.

 

The nearest contest date: 6 Jan 2008.

 

Bands:  80m and 2m,. Frequencies  according to IARU Region I regulations Band plan:.

CW: 3510 –3600 kHz, 144035-144135 kHz

SSB:  3600-3700 kHz, 144165-144360 kHz

FM:  145400-145550 kHz


Modes:
CW, Phone (SSB, FM)

 

Any station can be contacted during the contest. Every station can be contacted once per band and mode.

 

Modes: CW, Phone (SSB, FM)

Cross-mode contacts (i.e. PHONE/CW) are not allowed.

 

Participants: any licensed radio amateur radio station or SWL from Lithuania or foreign other country.

A- Single Op

B- Single Op CWMulti Op,

In the Single Op entry only D- Multi Ops (MIXED only)

E- SWL

 

Only one signal may be transmitted at any times by anyone in the SO entry.

 

Two signals may be transmitted at any given time in the Multi Ops entry: one in the 80m, the other in the 2m band.

 

Exchange: RS(T) + QSO serial number (starting with 001) plus + six character WW grid square locator (i.e. KO14XV). The serial numbering shall be continuous through all bands. progressive serial numbering independents of the band and entry.

 

Points: 1 point for each QSO.

 

One QSO per each mode on each band is permitted with the same station.

 

A QSO will still be counted as valid wOnly those QSO will be accepted, here another station has not submitted a contest log, but has made at least two more QSOs with other stations, and these QSOs have been reported in their relevant logs. which either have submitted logs or are reported in at least three other logs.

 


Contacts via active repeaters are not permitted.

 

Multiplier: multiplier for different WW grid square locatorsgrids worked separately onin the each bands.

 

Total score: Sum of QSO points on both bands multiplied by the sum of multipliers on the allboth bands.

 

Short Wave Listeners (SWL):

 SWL must to log both call signs and one exchange. The same call sign can be logged again ((rrepeatedly) after having logged at least after three different other stations.

 Points, multipliers and the total scoreing  calculation is the same as for all participantsare the same as for transmitting stations.

 

Contest logs:

Logs shall be mailed Please mail the logs within 10 days to the following address,:

Log shall contain a callsign and a name of participant, All logs should be accompanied with the following summary data: call, name and surname, contest entrycategory, name of the Club entry, WW QTH locator, number of QSOs, claimed score and a declaration that the entrant has operated strictly in accordance with the rules of the contest and within conditions of the license. .

If possible, please provide an eLogs in electronic format are preferred. lectronic copy of your log.

 

The name of the log file must containsist your CALL  and file extension shouldshall declare denote the data format  (call.xxx). Preferred Accepted data formats (xxx) are: cbr- cabrillo, log - CGLOG, dat- n6tr, txt - plain ASCII text.  Acceptable submissions can also include all other fixed-column ASCII formats.

 

 

Disqualification:

            - VThe violation of amateur radio licensing regulations in the country of the contestant;

- VThe violation of the rules of the contest rules.

Awards:

-          Vytautas Magnus Trophy” will be awarded to the top scored Single Op, Multi team and First-place winners  in category A, category C and thea club winner.

 -  Certificate will be awarded to top three entrants in each category

-       The foreignCertificate will be awarded to each participating country winner (in accordance with DXCC list).  stations winners will be awarded in each country according DXCC list only ifHowever it is obligatory to  they make at least 1 QSO with LY station.

- There may be Oother special awards established in categories promoted by the donors.
