LY HAMFEST-2009

Every summer Lithuanian radio amateurs gather together to their traditional HAMFEST somewhere in a beauty spot in Lithuania.

Lithuanian Amateur Radio Society (LRMD) is organizing LY HAMFEST – 2009 and invites to take part in it all radio amateurs from Lithuania and abroad.

It will provide excellent occasion to meet over 300 LY hams in the same place.

LY HAMFEST–2009 main organizers are Southern Lithuania radio clubs: Varpas, Hercas, Alfa.

This place will be planted with antennas, tents, fireplaces, beer stands and other ham radio activities on July 24-26, 2009.

Time: July 24-26, 2009

• Official opening ceremony will take place Saturday at 12.00 noon, but, as always, we start gathering on Friday.

• Closing ceremony will take place Sunday afternoon but this would not mean the end of the gathering.

Main activities

The programme will be published later but in the meantime it is as follows:

• HF, VHF, HST (telegraph), ARDF, basket ball, rope pulling, bicycle, weightlifting, fishing and other contests will take place on Saturday after opening.

• Market, auctions will take place during the gathering time.

• In the evenings – bonfires, fireworks, live music, dancing, etc.

• Saturday there will be an excursion for the ladies.

Accommodation

Sleeping:

• A grass field will accommodate our cars and tents. Nearby there will be properly erected field toilets, waste bins.

• 24 various size rooms are available in the hamfest place. Price for all hamfest time (2 nights) starts from 8 EUR in 9-bed room (54 EUR for whole 9-bed room). Double room costs 30 EUR (2 nights).

Food and drinks:

• Food and drinks will be served in shops all the gathering time.
  Hot food will be also offered.

• There will be facilities for self catering.

• Drinking water will be also available.

QRV

• A special station, with callsign LY2009RMD, will be working on the air all time.

• We suggest to bring your own transceivers and aerials for demonstrations and trials to work under field conditions.

• Guests from abroad, who have CEPT T/R 61 – 01 licences, will be able to work with callsigns LY/XXX, using their own equipment
